A Tribute in Loving Memory of Bill Gadless
A Community of Support
Over the last year, Bill received an incredible amount of support from this community, and I want to personally thank you, and also thank you on behalf of emagine / emagineHealth and Bill’s family.
In September of 2024, Bill was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He knew he needed to focus on his health and step back from his usual daily activities. I encouraged him to step away completely, but that was never who Bill was. He needed purpose. He needed to stay engaged. He needed to keep contributing.
Connecting Through Content
Bill had always been comfortable on LinkedIn, so he decided to focus his energy here. Largely confined to the couch due to treatment, he spent his time researching, writing, and sharing his thoughts. At first, his posts were industry focused, and his following grew quickly. What mattered most to him was the interaction. He truly valued the conversations and tried to respond to as many comments as he could.
After about six months, Bill asked me if I was comfortable with him sharing his personal story and his battle with cancer here. He was thoughtful about how that might reflect on the company and the people he worked with. We talked it through, and ultimately, I knew how meaningful this would be for him.
When Bill shared his story, the response was overwhelming. The support, encouragement, and kindness he received meant more to him than I can fully express. What struck us both was how real it was. These were not just connections or comments. These were people.
Bill was deeply grateful for every message, every comment, and every word of encouragement. This community gave him strength, purpose, and connection during a very difficult time.

Continuing Bill’s Legacy
To honor Bill and the causes he cared most deeply about, I have created the Bill Gadless, Jr. Foundation. It will be a way to continue his spirit of generosity, purpose, and care for others, and to ensure that what mattered to him continues to make a difference.
Thank you for showing up for Bill, for engaging with him, and for reminding him that his words and his story mattered.
It is amazing what happens when you stop worrying about what people think and simply share what is real.
